Read-only orientation
No archival field becomes a current claim automatically.
Archival context · equal structure · no country ranking
Alliances make more sense when geography, people, institutions, livelihoods, infrastructure, and environmental pressures are visible beside them. This explorer adds that missing context without turning countries into scores or stereotypes.
The source is a preserved 2025 Factbook-derived CSV. It is useful historical context—not a live country feed. Every field keeps its own estimate year where detectable, and current claims still require current, locally informed evidence.
Direct answer
It is a browser-local reading and comparison layer built from a preserved 2025 Factbook-derived CSV. It publishes six neutral context lenses for 260 source entities and maps source context to all 195 countries in the international-coverage roadmap. It deliberately excludes military, terrorism, trafficking, and operational-targeting fields from the public explorer.
How to use this page
Use the explorer to understand context before opening alliance or institution analysis. No single number establishes how a place works, what its people believe, or which relationships it should have.
Need current country prose?
The Country Context Composer opens one of the 195 roadmap countries beside its archival six-lens baseline. Current claims require their own dates, source identity, scope, confidence, perspective, disagreement, rights, oversight, affected-community context, and correction record.
No archival field becomes a current claim automatically.
Each claim carries dates, identity, scope, confidence, perspective, language, and review state.
Rationale and the test needed remain visible beside every inference.
Translations cite evidence and document anti-typecasting safeguards.
Browse, inspect, compare
Profiles use the same display model, but they do not imply equal data quality or identical political status. Territories, dependencies, oceans, special areas, and supranational records remain visibly distinct from the 195-country roadmap.
Choose a country, territory, region, ocean, or institution. The explorer will load only that profile’s facts and preserve the source wording, estimate years, missing fields, and truth boundary.
Read places in layers
Each lens answers a different question. None can stand in for the others, and none establishes a country’s morality, loyalty, institutional quality, danger, or future alignment.
Location, terrain, climate, scale, hazards, resources, and population distribution.
Population, languages, urbanization, age, education, and health context without identity scoring.
Capital, government form, legal system, administrative structure, constitution, and international participation.
Economic overview, production, growth, prices, employment, industries, trade, and agriculture.
Internet, electricity, energy, airports, ports, railways, and merchant transport.
Environmental issues, emissions, water availability, withdrawal, and international agreements.
Data quality made visible
The uploaded CSV calls one column ISO2, but eight values are reused across multiple entities. The publication therefore preserves that value as source_code and creates a separate stable entity_id.
This is not a cosmetic correction. Treating a reused code as unique could merge places, misattribute facts, or silently overwrite one record with another.

Archival truth boundary
The CIA sunset The World Factbook in February 2026. This supplied 2025 snapshot is preserved because it remains useful for broad orientation, historical comparison, and fictional worldbuilding—not because every row is current today.
The snapshot year describes the collection; each statistic may carry a different estimate year.
Contemporary claims require current official, primary, locally authored, or local-language sources where feasible.
Source naming is provenance. IARPG does not use one imported label to adjudicate sovereignty or identity.
Population, religion, language, development, geography, diagnosis, or political structure cannot serve as proxies for danger or recruitability.
Server-rendered starting points
These examples are links into the explorer—not rankings or representative “types.” They demonstrate that country, global, regional, and institutional context can share one structure without being collapsed into one category.
